The accounts in this blog are factual; however, I am not revealing the name of the restaurant at which I am employed in an attempt to protect its reputation as a great DC eatery (which it is).

MORE IMPORTANTLY: While this is, indeed, a rant, I do NOT condone being rude to customers. Ever.

In fact, I do not condone being rude to ANYone– which is why I have constructed this blog.

I hope to shed light on the difficulties of working in the service industry so that one day readers might think twice before snapping at their server or summoning a manager to scold the host when s/he accidentally over-quotes a seating time.

That said, I am equally appalled when restaurant employees are not courteous to their customers. Not because they’re the “servers”, but because we are ALL PEOPLE. And we all deserve respect.
